ABC Family conjures up Harry Potter weekend

As part of its "25 Days of Christmas," ABC Family will air the first four movies of the Harry Potter franchise Dec. 5-7. The TV premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will also feature deleted scenes not included in the theatrical version. There will be exclusive sneak peeks of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince throughout the three-day marathon. Daniel, Rupert, Emma and Michael Gambon will discuss the upcoming film's story lines, as well as revealing insider information.

Daniel Radcliffe struggles to shake off Potter

Daily Mail has an interview with Dan where he talks about playing Harry and stardom.

'I'm really excited to go back, because this is the last one now,' Daniel told me when we met in New York recently. 'I will certainly be coming up to 21 by the time we finish shooting, and that will be almost ten years of my life playing Harry Potter. 'It's going to be very emotional, very strange on the last day of filming on that film. It's going to be kind of weird, suddenly leaving it all behind.'

'I'm not into drugs, I don't go beating people up!' Daniel said. He added that he's impressed by the next generation of child stars, particularly Dakota Fanning and Abigail Breslin, although he's amazed that Fanning's too good to play her own age. 'I was never like that! I was very much 11 when I was 11,' he laughed.

'Look, I'm very lucky to be paid very well for a job I love. I think actors are very lucky and we should never forget that. We earn a lot of money for doing stuff that is just great fun.' Daniel insists he just wants to do good work, whether it's in films, or on TV, stage or radio. 'There's not a career in being a star, because stars decline. I'm just interested in being an actor.' Griffiths 'envies' Daniel Radcliffe

Richard Griffiths joked about how he harbours violent tendencies towards Dan.

The 61-year-old, who stars alongside the 19-year-old in the Harry Potter films as Uncle Vernon Dursley and in Equus, where he plays the psychiatrist Dr Martin Dysart, says that being around the younger actor can sometimes be frustrating. "I have no time for British youth. It's a source of envy and despair because I'm not one of them," he revealed at the Frost/Nixon premiere in New York.

"So I share nothing but a few principles - very little culture at all because I have no idea what he's (Daniel) talking about. He comes raving up to me about the latest band that he's been listening to or poet, and I have no idea what he's talking about. It's terrible, it just makes me feel so old." He added, with a smile: "In fact, I'm going to beat him up before we leave because you know, he's young, handsome, successful, happy, everything unbearable so I shall have to beat him soundly."

Robert Pattinson is scheduled to appear at the at the Hot Topics store in the Orland Square Mall today to promote his upcoming movie Twilight and he mentioned Dan in an interview with the Sun-Times on Sunday. He said he looked to Daniel as the role model for dealing with success. "Daniel's handled it all so beautifully. And he's had to deal with far more stuff than I likely ever will." Twilight opens in theatres worldwide on November 12.

Not even a wizard can vote if he isn't registered. Even so, Daniel Radcliffe was thrilled to tag along with an "Equus" co-star who voted near NYU yesterday. "Barack Obama's treated like the Messiah in England," the 19-year-old Brit told The Post's Barbara Hoff man. "We don't have particularly inspirational politicians, certainly no one who can draw crowds in the thousands." Speaking of crowds, the "Harry Potter" star can walk our streets undetected. "The other day, I walked through Battery Park City up around Wall Street for about two hours, and I wasn't stopped once," Radcliffe says. "I'm so short, no one notices me!" (He's 5-foot-5.)
